Children learn to ski at Brotherton and Byram

The Y4 children at Brotherton and Byram have enjoyed four weeks of lessons at Xscape, thanks to the school sports funding.

The children revisited the slopes where they were joined by the UK’s number one freestyle skier Katie Summerhayes and Team GB ski coach Pat Sharples, who presented the certificates to the children after they had finished the course.

The school has committed to every Y4 class, for the next 5 years whilst the funding exists, learning to ski. It is a chance to offer our children a taste of a sport that ordinarily they may not have……and who knows maybe a future Uk no1 freestyle skier may come from Brotherton and Byram!
