Welcome to Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy

We are respectful citizens with curious minds and aspirational goals

Welcome to Brotherton Community Primary Academy.

I am proud to be the Headteacher of a school where everyone feels welcome and valued; a place where children are happy, feel safe to learn and where achievement in all areas of learning is noticed and celebrated.  We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning – achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise to ensure that all pupils fulfil their potential.

We have our Ebor core values of excellence, belonging, opportunities and respect and our school values of mutual respect, trust, honesty and courage grow children’s confidence, self-motivation, resilience, tolerance, seeing the world from other people’s perspectives.  We take a restorative approach across the whole of school to resolve conflict and rebuild relationships so every child feels valued and has a voice.  Our core values and ethos are at the heart of everything we do in school, building a strong and happy school community where everyone has the inspiration and drive to achieve their best.

Our staff are extremely dedicated and supportive and work very hard to provide the best opportunities for all our pupils in a safe and happy school environment.  We aim to build the skills, knowledge and positive attitudes necessary to help all our pupils become responsible, respectful and tolerant citizens of the future.

The positive support of our parents and the wider community is very important to us all and we maintain an open and welcoming environment where we can work in partnership for the benefit of our pupils.  Our school is on an exciting journey where we are always looking at opportunities to improve our environment and curriculum to make it inspiring for children to learn. With the support of parents and the wider community we are working together to improve our school.

Please take time to look through our website to give you an insight into our school.  Our website provides regular updates on what is going on so please also look at our ‘latest news’ and twitter feed.  Although we put as much as we can on our website to keep everyone updated on what is going on in our school community, visiting our school will give you a full picture of our learning environment so please contact us if you would like to come and visit.

Thank you for visiting and I look forward to meeting you and showing you around our school.
