Special News
Christmas will soon be here and we have some news and changes in school to share that will be happening in school over the next few weeks and in the new year.
We are very pleased to tell everyone that Mrs Jeff is expecting her second child. This is very exciting news and we are all very happy for her and Mr Jeff. She will be working until Easter time and then will be starting maternity leave.
Also, Mrs Atkinson has decided that with three small children she would like to spend more time with them and so will be leaving after Christmas. Mrs Atkinson has given a lot to the school over the years she has been here and she will be really missed. She will be coming in to school to say ‘goodbye’ and share Christmas lunch with us on Friday 9th December. We will be having a leaving assembly for her at 10.30am and you are very welcome to join us then.
Because of staff leaving and maternity leave cover, a new teacher, Miss Thompson, will be joining our team in January to teach in Ouse Class. She will also be coming in to school to meet the children on 5th and 6th December. Initially Mrs Jeff will work in class with her to ensure smooth transition and will then be supporting teaching across school until she goes on maternity leave.
We also welcome, Miss Beal, Miss Knight and Miss Sarvent in school, who have joined us as teaching assistants this week to work in classes across school.
The next few weeks are very busy and as our Christmas tree goes up in school this week, the excitement for Christmas will begin! Children are working hard on Christmas songs for our whole school Christmas nativity celebration in church on Tuesday 13th December at 6pm. All children will be taking part and it will be a very special night. Please could children be in church by 5.30pm. At the end of the celebration there will be refreshments so please stay afterwards and look at the Christmas tree festival in church that school are also taking part in. A separate invitation will go out next week.
