Welcome to Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy
On behalf of the staff, governors and pupils of Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you all.
I believe that our school is a truly wonderful place to learn and grow. We work very hard to ensure every child experiences a wealth of opportunities so they enjoy coming to school, feel safe and understand their own very special role within our school community. Our children are encouraged to develop resilience and independence nurturing them to become confident learners. This in turn leads to children striving to reach their potential – something that all our children can be proud of.
Our school values are Excellence, Belonging, Opportunity and Respect. These values are represented in both the learning experiences the children enjoy and in the ethos fostered by each and every member of our school community.
As a restorative school we pride ourselves on the support, advice and guidance which our pupils receive. We work to ensure that every child has a voice and develops the ability to express their emotions with confidence. Here at Brotherton and Byram Community Primary Academy we teach our children that they are an important part of a team, one that places great importance on supporting and caring for one another. We work very hard to instil in our children values such as mutual respect, trust and honesty. Encouraging children to have a voice and to listen to the members of their team is something which is of paramount importance to us. Teaching children that no worry is too small and that we will always take their worries seriously is part of our restorative ethos. Within all of this we also encourage our children to take responsibility for their own actions and choices, whilst supporting them to cope with any challenges they might face.
We strongly believe that successful partnerships with home are essential to enable us to fulfil our aims of creating happy, confident, successful and respectful individuals. We would welcome the opportunity to show you around and let you see some of the wonderful opportunities we offer our children. Through our school website, we hope to give you an insight into what makes our school a special place to be part of. We will also provide regular updates for our whole school community and any interested visitors. If you would like to visit our school please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I look forward to meeting with you very soon.
