A message from the Headteacher …

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year to you all!  It was great to see the children on Monday, even though many said it was hard getting up!  We have had a great start to our term this week so thank you for making sure the children have been in school on time every day.

This week some of our children went to Young Voices at Sheffield Arena and did us proud.  Look out for our school update on the website for pictures.

Thank you also for being patient with our new school dinners booking system. Once it is up and running smoothly it should be a much more efficient way of ordering dinner and will ensure we are not wasting as much food.

As we returned to school, parking outside school is still a massive issue.  Please can I ask again, for the safety of our children, you do not double park illegally on the yellow lines, on the zig zags or park in front of people’s drives.  You can park at the village hall near the shop and walk into school as there is plenty of parking there or if you can, please walk to school. We have planned a walk to school week during our safety week, but you do not have to wait until then.  We have already had complaints regarding parking and it would be devastating if a child was injured because of inconsiderate or illegal parking. The police are aware and are dealing with the parking issues. We will also be monitoring very closely and speaking to parents again when we see cars parked illegally.

We have lots planned for this term and I do hope we have some snow (but not enough to close school!) as the children love it and we get some great learning from them being outside in it.

Early next week, we will be putting calendar dates on the website and will also share through ParentHub so please look out for those.

Many thanks for your continued support and please do not hesitate to contact me or come and see me if you have any concerns or celebrations of your child’s learning you want to share.

Mrs Fletcher
