Important information to protect families

We are aware that nationally some parents are in receipt of emails asking for their bank details in order to deposit payment for free school meals. This is a scam. If your child is eligible for free school meals, then instead you will receive communication from the school or voucher agency via your given email address or text and ultimately will receive e-vouchers. At no point would this involve you needing to input bank details as the vouchers arrive via email or text.

We are also aware that in Bradford parents have been contacted by phone with a person stating that they were from the Local Authority.  The caller knew the parents’ surname and address.  The caller requested information in relation to the parent’s experience of education delivery during COVID-19.  The caller went on to request to speak to the child about this and subsequently asked highly inappropriate questions which put the child at risk of harm and caused great distress to the family.  This has of course been reported to the Police.  Please be aware that neither the school or the Local Authority would ever call and ask for information in this way and that parents should report any such calls directly to the Police on 101.

Take care and stay safe!
