Dear Parents/Carers,

Well it has definitely been a very soggy week with the weather and such a change from the lovely sunshine we have had recently.  Let’s hope the sun returns soon!

It has been an extremely busy week with more vulnerable and key worker children coming in as well as a small group of Reception and Nursery children.  We are now at capacity with safe social distancing and staffing so will not be able to widen opening further to our Year 1 and Year 6 children at the moment.  If government guidance changes, which means we can have more groups safely in before the summer we will do.

We are continuing to set work and support home learners and staff are working hard to balance supporting groups of children in school and home learners as both are important.  But, it will mean that teachers cannot respond as soon as children have been used to but they will do their best for the children.

The government will be announcing further plans for schools next week and I am sure you will be as keen as we are to find out what they are.  I will pass on any information we received as a school as soon as I can as well.  We also have to report information about any family who has had a COVID-19 test and if the test was positive.  Please would you let school know if this is the case.

We have seen some amazing learning from home and yet again are overwhelmed by the amazing things the children are doing.  There has been lots of positive feedback about our ‘learning through’ weeks and I do hope you have all enjoyed Science week.  Filtration has gone down very well so as and when lockdown is over, I am sure there will be many children wanting to go on more adventures ‘Bear Grylls’ style!

Many thanks as always for all your support and for everything you are doing at home to support your child’s learning.
