A Message from the Headteacher…

Hi everyone,

Apologies today for our phone lines and internet being down.  What did we do before the internet!

Another good week in school with National Poetry Day yesterday and lots of things happening next week including our Harvest Festival in classes.  We are going to record each class, who will present a short harvest celebration, then share as a whole school celebration.  This year, please can we ask you to talk to your children about taking part in an act of kindness to another rather than bring in any donations into school.  It would be great if you could share what your child has done with us and we can celebrate how kindness makes a big difference to others.

We had our first online Parent Forum this week.  Thank you to those parents who signed in.  We discussed our wellbeing curriculum theme this term and our school improvement plans this year.  The three main strands are:

Getting children back on track with learning in school

Reading

Remote learning

We have a remote learning policy and plan in place for when families need to self isolate as we do not want your children missing out on their learning.  This week you should have had a google form asking about devices children can access at home and today a google form asking for parental consent to using our safe Ebor online learning platform when children are learning at home.  There will be one more google form coming to you requesting permission to use SeeSaw but that should be the last one hopefully.  We are putting together guides to share with you so you are clear what school will be doing in the event of children learning from home and teachers self isolating.  These should be ready by the end of next week.

Many thanks for all your support and positive comments.

Have a good weekend,

Mrs Fletcher
