What’s on this Christmas at…BB 2020!

Christmas 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

It is quite unbelievable that we only have 4 weeks in school until we break up for the Christmas holidays.  Whatever that will look like this year, we don’t want our children to miss out so have planned the following:

1st December – 18th December This year we are taking part in a Trust wide reverse advent calendar event.  The Foodbank does an amazing job and we would like to do our bit to support them as we were not able to contribute anything for harvest this year.  Rather than food, we are collecting everyday toiletries as they are very short of these much needed essentials.  If you can, and would like to, please donate.  A box will be out on the playground and outside of school to collect your contributions.  We will keep the donations for 72 hours and then give them to the Foodbank.
Week commencing 7th December Filming our Christmas Nativity.  Everyone will take part in classes and, once we have edited the video, we will share with you on the 15th December if not before.
Wednesday 16th December Christmas lunch – we are having Christmas lunch in classes this year with crackers and Christmas music.

If you would like your child to have a Christmas lunch please book on ParentPay by Friday 4th December. Don’t worry if it doesn’t say it is Christmas lunch, please just book the correct day.

Afternoon – Christmas crafts in classes.

Thursday 17th December Party day – each class will have party games in the afternoon and children can come to school in party clothes.

Please be aware that children will be going out to play in party clothes so sensible shoes and nothing that will be spoiled.

We will not provide food but children will get some sweets in sealed bags to take home.

Friday 18th December Christmas jumper day with non-uniform.  Please do not go out and buy a jumper, just wear something Christmassy if you do not have one.

As we cannot take money this year, please make a donation outside of school to Save The Children if you can.

Other Things to Note:
School tea towel As a small fundraiser, as we cannot have our Christmas fair this year, we are selling a school tea towel.  Every child has drawn a picture of themselves and we have had all the pictures put on a tea towel for you to buy if you would like to.

A picture of the tea towel will be shared with you with details on how to order as soon as possible.

The tea towel looks great!

Any money raised will go towards a whole school celebration when we can get back to some new safe normal.

Christmas cards We have to be careful how we manage the handing out of Christmas cards this year.  We want children to have the opportunity to give cards but will need to quarantine them before they are handed out.

So, please can children bring in cards from Monday 7th to Friday 11th December.  We cannot accept any cards before or after these dates.  We will then hand them out to children the final week of term.

We have put all the information onto a poster too so you don’t miss any dates.

A month tomorrow will be Christmas day!

Please let me know if you have any questions,

Mrs Fletcher
