A message from the headteacher…

Dear Parent/Carers,

Well, what a year it has been!  It certainly wasn’t a year planned but, although the pandemic may have dampened our spirits and stopped much longed for get togethers with family and friends, trips out and holidays, there have been some really good memories from it too.  All the children have reflected on positives from this year as well as things they will not miss.  Being able to wear pyjamas all day when we went into our first lockdown was definitely a highlight for many of our children!

It has been a year when teamwork and working in partnership with parents couldn’t have been any stronger.  Thank you.

We were not sure how this term would be and have been so pleased with how much learning the children have covered and the progress they have made.

I hope you enjoyed watching our Christmas Nativity and fingers crossed next year you can join us in school to watch it.  Christmas lunch too, although a great success in classes, was definitely not the same without the madness of two sitting and sharing with parents in the hall.  Again, fingers crossed for next year.

When we come back after the break we will be changing start times in school now we are in a routine with the one way system.  Please can children be dropped off between 8.40 and 8.50 rather than 8.30-8.50.  They will come in the same way with the same routines at the start of the day.  Key Stage 1 and Early Years pick up will be at 3.15 so parents collecting children in both key stages can collect Key Stage 1 first avoiding having to go round the one way system again.  Key Stage 2 will remain at 3.30pm to avoid congestion in the playground.

Everyone is extremely tired and in need of a well deserved break from school and I sincerely hope you have a chance to recharge and spend time with family.  It will be a very different Christmas for us all for sure.

Keep safe and enjoy the break.

See you all on Monday 4th January,

Mrs Fletcher
