Welcome Back

Good afternoon and welcome back!
I hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year and had some lovely family time.
As we start the new term, you may have concerns about school safety but please be reassured that we are continuing with additional cleaning, handwashing and ventilation. The government is very clear that schools will remain open which is good news and we will do all we can to minimise risk. Please can I also ask that you wear masks on school property, including the playground, to protect yourself as well as others.
Please also see the attached letter from the Trust regarding school opening.
Even though Covid cases are very high, the Omicron variant does not appear as severe which is good news but I anticipate we will have several families and staff off isolating over the next few weeks. We have a plan in place for staff absence and teachers, who may need to isolate, will deliver a mix of live lessons and prepared lessons for children in school. If your child is isolating as a result of a positive LFT/PCR they are able to access prepared lessons as part of our remote learning policy and we will make sure they have chromebooks to access the learning.
It is really important though that, if your child is well and does not have Covid, they attend school on time every day so we have the best chance of catching up on learning from previous lockdowns and getting them to where they need to be with their learning.
We have loads of exciting learning opportunities planned this term and I will share calendar dates with you by the end of the week.
Unfortunately, I will not be in school until Thursday as I have had Covid over Christmas and New Year so Mr Greene is deputising in my absence, But, I will still be available if you have any questions or concerns.
