Newsletter 20th April 2023
20/4/2023
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to our summer term. The sun has started to shine a little bit more and it is definitely starting to get warmer which is good news after what feels like a very wet and cold winter and spring so far.
It has been lovely to see the children back and all are settling into their learning well. There were some tired faces on Monday but the first day back and getting back into routines after two weeks off is always a bit of a shock to the system!
We have a busy few weeks ahead with end of key stage assessments and bank holidays. We have our first bank holiday on Monday 1st May and then the additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May for the King’s Coronation.
Our Year 6 children will be starting their SATs on Tuesday 9th May and have been working really hard in preparation so they can really show off what they have learned. We are so proud of them and their determination to do well.
This week you should have had dates of events planned this term. We have lots of events that we would love you to come to so please check and make a note of dates. We will also send reminders out as well.
For the King’s Coronation, on Friday 5th May, children will all have a picnic lunch with bunting and will wear crowns made in school. It will be lovely for them all to have lunch together and we will finish off the lunch time with the National Anthem so please watch out for tweets and updates on our website of their special lunch.
There is teacher strike action coming up on Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May. It is never an easy decision to close classes but unfortunately we will have to close Years 1, 2 and 3 on those days. If anything changes I will let you know but please plan for children in those classes not to be attending on those days.
Thank you so much for your understanding and here’s to a great summer term!
Many thanks,
Mrs Fletcher
