Friday 15th March 2024

Firstly, can I say what a joy it was to see so many parents at our Celebration of Learning event last Thursday. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the event such a success; it was so good to be able to share your children’s learning journey this term with you. Subsequently, I hope that you have found the parent consultations useful this week to get an update from your child’s teacher about how they are getting on at this stage in the year.

Following on from World Book Day, the children have been freshly inspired to pick up a good book and get stuck in this week. It was great seeing Team Humber getting comfy and enjoying their library slot. The new books from our guest author, Sarah Shafi, have been a particular hit and very well received by pupils of all ages.

Meanwhile, over in Team Aire, the children have been using different art materials to recreate dragon scales, as part of their topic on Castles. They were inspired by their recent trip to Pontefract Castle, where they learned lots of new information about castles and medieval battles. The resulting artwork is really beautiful and the children are very proud.

Next week is the last week of term, which has come around so quickly! We hope that you will be able to join us for the Easter celebration at church on Friday 22nd March at 14:00. In order to fulfil safeguarding requirements, we are requesting that Parents / Carers use the google form to notify school of their intention to attend the event. There is no limit on the amount of parents / carers that wish to attend, but we ask that you use the google form to indicate how many tickets you require and complete the names of those who will be attending.

Please sign up via this link: https://forms.gle/ZqjetuJxYrTYKFBC6

Finally, we are proud to offer a range of clubs and after-school activities to all our families. Please take a look at what is on offer for after the Easter Break and sign up using Parentpay.  Details of the clubs will be listed in the newsletter next week and the item will be listed on Parentpay, where a £1 will apply for booking places.

Have a lovely weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene
