Super Summer Fair!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who was able to support our annual Summer Fair this week! The weather wasn’t on our side in the end but that didn’t stop us from having lots of fun together as a school community and raising lots of funds to go back into experiences and resources for the children. Thanks to your generosity and support, I am delighted to share that we raised a MASSIVE £628! Thank you so much! Thank you as well to all the staff for their help in running the event. A particular thank you has to go to Mrs Gibb and Mrs Hand who coordinated the event and made it all possible.

We have had a very busy week in school this week with lots of different activities happening and new learning opportunities. Up in Forest School, the children in KS1 have been working together to make their new bug hotel. We used to have a special place to encourage insects to live but it needed upgrading after many years of use. The pupils in Teams Aire and Ouse worked collaboratively to create a wonderful new home for the wildlife! Well done everyone and thank you! I was also particularly proud of the hard work and skill on display in Team Ouse’s Art lessons this week where they have been using clay to make a plate of food. The children combined their Art learning with their learning in PSHE about the importance of having a healthy, balanced diet. The children used lots of new skills (like slip and scratch) to join the clay food to their plates. Well done!

Just a reminder that next week is our transition week on Monday -Thursday. We hope the children really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know their new teachers. Please take your child to their new classroom on these days for some exciting activities with their new teacher. On Friday, the children will return to their original classroom for their last day of school with their teachers from this year.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene
