Welcome back to school!

Welcome back to school everyone as we start this new academic year together!

Wow – where has the time gone?! I hope you’ve had a good break over the summer holidays and feel ready to get stuck back into a new term! Thank you, as always, for all of your continued support as we begin the new year. A very special warm welcome to all those families who are new and joining our community for the first time this week; we hope your child enjoys their time at Brotherton and Byram Academy and that they thrive to achieve their full potential.

It has been a joy and a pleasure to see you all again and to spend time with the children around school over the last three days. I have been blown away by how sensible and ‘grown up’ all the children have been. Their attitude towards their learning has been fantastic and we have lots of exciting new things planned for this year. As always, I am keen to hear your views and opinions as families, so please do not hesitate to speak to me when you see me around the school site or by picking up the phone. I am looking forward to continuing to work closely together in partnership with you all this year.

There is plenty of information below on clubs and activities. Please also see this year’s term dates. Next week we will be sending out the dates and information about upcoming events this term, so watch this space!

Lastly, I am delighted to announce that our new PE teacher for Tuesdays has been appointed and is called Mr Toulson. With over 20 years of experience teaching physical education and working as a professional footballer, we are pleased to welcome him to the team! See further details on his pen portrait below.

Have a great weekend and see you next week,

Mr Greene
