Newsletter 2nd May 2025

Friday 2nd May 2025

We have had another very busy week at school t|his week with lots of learning!

In Year 5, the children have been working hard in Music with learning how to play brass instruments. The children have been practising their breathing and how to play three new notes on their instruments. They are really enjoying these lessons and they are making wonderful progress, which they were able to show off at their recent sharing assembly!

In Year 3, in PSHE, the children have practiced expressing their viewpoints. The class explored ways of responding respectfully when they don’t agree with somebody else’s opinion. The class practiced by debating topics such as “should the school day be longer?”. Year 3 worked hard to show good listening skills to their team.

Meanwhile, in Early Years the children have been looking at a variety of plants and how they grow. We have learnt the names of the parts of plants and what is needed to help them grow. In the outdoor classroom we have used magnifying glasses to examine the plants growing in our garden and discuss their differences such as colour and height.

In other news, in the interests of keeping everyone safe, please may I remind all families and carers that scooters and bikes are not to be ridden anywhere on the school grounds (including on the main playground). Thank you for your continued support in keeping everyone safe.

FInally, next week on Thursday 8th May it will be VE Day where we will be celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War in Europe. In order to celebrate the occasion, the children will be having a picnic on the playground followed by some dancing and a song!

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we will see you again on Tuesday, Mr Greene

Safeguarding Thought of the Week

As the nights are getting lighter and our children are playing out for longer, we would like to share the following information which may help them keep themselves safe when riding around our community.

In addition to the information shared, could we also ask that you discourage your child from wearing headphones whilst riding their bike.
