Newsletter 10th October 2025

Friday 10th October 2025

This week it was a real pleasure to open up the school for our termly Celebration of Learning on Tuesday at the end of the school day. We were so pleased to see so many families sharing learning and enjoying the activities on offer. Thank you for your continued support and for joining us. We hope that you found it interesting seeing the work your children have done at this early stage in the new academic year. We have been blown away by their hard work and attitude; it was great to be able to share together. We run these events ahead of our parent consultation evenings so families have the chance to see their children’s work and talk to the teacher. We can then have follow-up conversations about your child’s progress online via our parent consultation app. If you have not yet booked a slot, please can I encourage you to do so or speak to the school office if you need any help.

In other news, we were absolutely delighted to take a group of pupils from Teams Aire and Ouse this week to Selby High School to take part in the next cluster sports event. This time the focus was Multiskills and the children took part in a carousel of activities with their friends. They represented the school in a fantastic way and all worked really hard! Well done team and thank you Mrs Caffrey for organising the event!

I am also pleased to share that our stay and play pre-school and babies group is back up and running on Wednesday mornings in the school hall. If you, or someone you know, has young children and you would like to join us between 08:45 – 09:45 for a drink, play and chat, then please do join us! We always have a range of toys, activities and sensory play available and would love to get to know you and your children. You would be most welcome! Please come along or speak to Mrs Robertson or Miss Dickinson who run the event!

Thank you for your continued support and have a great weekend, Mr Greene

Safeguarding thought of the week

Important Safeguarding Notice: Children’s “Spy” books.

Please be aware that schools have been informed about a recent issue affecting some popular children’s books by Andrew Cope, including Spy Dogs, Spy Cats and Spy Pupils series. Some editions of these books include a website address for the author’s website. However, it has been hacked by another party and now leads to inappropriate adult content. The publisher, Puffin, has paused distribution and the redirected website has no connection to them or the author. Please be reassured that we do not have these books in our school. However, we are sharing as you may have a copy of these books at home and if so, please check to see if there is a website link at the back of the book and make sure that they do not try to visit the site.
