This morning, we received an exciting phone call from the Producer of BBC Look North asking if they could call by this morning to pay us a visit with Pudsey from Children In Need! To support the charity, Lindsay Burrow and their presenter Amy Garcia took part in ‘The Thousand Mile Challenge’ and they asked if they could come and say hello. Today, they have walked from Castleford to Selby and tomorrow they are walking over 20 miles with their legs tied together! It’s such a wonderful cause and we were absolutely delighted to be able to go out to the front of the school to cheer them on!
As part of the stop-off, the children were surprised by a visit from Pudsey himself! They loved meeting him and cheering on Amy and Lindsay. Our visitors and the production team were blown away by the children’s energy and enthusiasm; they all represented the school really well! We hope you can tune into BBC 1 Look North tonight at 18:30 to see them on TV! The producer also shared with me that they might be featured on BBC Children In Need tomorrow night on BBC1! Thank you to all the staff for making it happen and to all the children for their amazing energy!
In other news this week, in preparation for their next piece of writing, Team Foss received tickets to the Foss Class Circus. They became acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers and clowns before watching a video of a real life circus performance. Next week, they will write a diary about the whole experience.
I’ve also been absolutely blown away by the amazing Maths in school this week. It was a joy to go and see all the Maths learning in classrooms yesterday with Miss Oglesby (our interim Maths lead). We are focusing on Maths this year across the school and the children have been doing really well!
As you know, we are closed tomorrow for our next teacher training day so have a nice extended weekend and we will see you next week, Mr Greene
