Newsletter 12th December 2025

Friday 12th December 2025

This week Team’s Esk and Nidd did an amazing performance of their Christmas Nativity in the school hall! Their retelling of the first Christmas was full of wonderful songs, actions and lines that we enjoyed sharing with their parents and carers. The children did a fantastic job and we are very proud of them! What a great way to get into the festive spirit! Many thanks go to the parents for your continued support and to our EYFS team who worked so hard to put this event together! Thank you and well done!

Meanwhile, further up school this week, Team Humber have been writing diary entries from the perspective of well-known fairy tale villains. It appears that all is not what it seems and they are, in fact, not to blame for the wrong doings of characters such as The Three Little Pigs, Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) and The Three Bears! The whole class really got into character when writing their final piece and did such a great job of weaving humour and wit into their writing. Well done Year 6!

As we look ahead to the final week of term, we have lots of Christmas events to look forward to next week! Please join us on Monday afternoon at 14:40 on the playground for Carols if you are available. Also, don’t forget to send money in by the end of the day today if you would like your child to take part in the secret room on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we are looking forward to sharing the Key Stage 1 Christmas show with parents and on Thursday, I know many of you will be joining us for Christmas dinner. We’ll finish next Friday with a non-uniform day – feel free to let your children put on a Christmas jumper if they have one! Thank you for your ongoing support and we hope you enjoy these events with the staff and children.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene

Safeguarding thought of the week

Group chats are a hugely popular way for children to stay in touch with their friends, whether via messaging apps, social platforms or games. These online groups can help them feel connected, strengthen relationships and encourage creativity –  but they also come with certain risks. From teasing and exclusion to privacy worries and inappropriate content, children can experience a wide range of challenges in group chats. This guide helps parents and educators recognise the signs of trouble and offers simple ways to support children in using group chats safely and respectfully.
