Newsletter 27th February 2026

Friday 27th February 2026

This week in school, the pupils in Year 3 have started a new topic in Geography this week all about Yorkshire! They worked hard to find the UK, England and Yorkshire using an atlas, online map of the world and a globe. They even discovered that Yorkshire is the largest county in the UK!

In other news, we were pleased to welcome a visitor from North Yorkshire Council who delivered a whole-school assembly focused on the vital topic of road safety. During the session, children were reminded how to keep themselves — and others — safe when crossing the road, walking near traffic, and cycling. They discussed the importance of stopping, looking carefully both ways, listening for traffic, using safe crossing points wherever possible, and being aware of their surroundings at all times. The assembly also highlighted how small actions, such as removing headphones, avoiding distractions, and making eye contact with drivers, can make a significant difference.

Also, please be advised that next half term, School is moving away from ParentPay and you will need to have signed up for Arbor Comms to be able to access Arbor Payments. Once we move onto Arbor Payments, all trips, clubs, lunches and Breakfast Club will be on there and not bookable through ParentPay. More details will follow as we prepare the move within the payments system.

Finally, please check below for some important dates for your diary coming up, including World Book Day next Thursday 5th March. This will be a non-uniform day with an invitation for children to dress up as a storybook character. We have planned lots of exciting activities during the day and would like you to come into school from 14:00, if you are able to, to join your children as they explore what’s on offer together.  Bookings for parent consultations have also been sent out; please make it a priority to sign up for an online appointment to hear how your child is progressing with their learning.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you next week! Mr Greene
