Dear Parents/Carers,

We’re in full swing with Music this week!

The classroom’s of Brotherton and Byram School are full of the sound of music this week with our specialist Music teacher, Miss Wilkins. We now have a wide range of instruments for the children to learn including: percussion, boomwhackers, bells, recorders, ukuleles, trumpets, trombones and violins! It has been a joy to hear the children exploring sound in such a fun way and there is a real buzz around the school listening to them play.

The children have had another busy week across school and we continue to be blown away by their energy, determination and courage to try new things. Thank you to all our parents and carers for all of your ongoing support this term; it has been a great start to the year.

Coming up – if your child is in Team Humber, please join us next Tuesday 26th September at 17:30 for an important meeting. Also, I am delighted to invite you all to stop by on the playground and take part in our coffee morning next Friday 29th September, where we will be collecting donations to go towards Macmillan Cancer Support.

Safeguarding Thought of the Week

Use of mobile phones and social media

As a school we want to show off our children at our various events and understand that proud parents and carers want to capture these moments. Parents and carers are of course welcome to take pictures their child at special events and sharing assemblies, but we kindly ask that these pictures/videos are not shared on social media. This is to ensure that we are keeping all our children safe.

Other than special events, parents are not not allowed to use their phones/take photographs on the school premises, including the playground, at any other point during the day.

Please also ensure that your children are not bringing mobile phones or tablets to school (unless they are in Y5 or Y6 and the agreement form has been signed).

Please see the schools Mobile Phone Policy for more information regarding the use of mobile phones for parents, carers and children.
