Welcome back!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to our summer term.  I hope you are all well and coping with our new normal.  All the teachers were very pleased to have the children back learning and so far, all the children seem very keen too, so thank you for making sure they are getting back into the swing of things.

It is such a strange time but the strength and commitment from everyone to ensure we keep the children’s learning going is quite overwhelming and I cannot thank you enough.  I do want to reassure you that we are setting work that the children should be able to access independently and teachers are there to support learning during school hours. We just ask that you get the children to get into a routine of working during school hours if you can.  We know this is sometimes difficult with work commitments but if you can then teachers are there to support. If you are finding it difficult, please let us know as we do not expect you to be their teacher. You are doing an amazing job and making our life so much easier but we understand juggling work and family is so difficult.

You will have heard in the news that the government are discussing when to ease the lockdown and reopen schools (albeit with social distancing still in place).  When we have any more news about this, I will let you know straight away.

Unfortunately, school residentials booked this summer term have been cancelled but we are trying hard to re-book the current Year 4 residential for the autumn term.  Unfortunately, we cannot re-book the Year 6 residential but we will try really hard to plan in a big celebration and treat if we can. Even if this is not possible before the summer, we will organise something for the autumn term if Year 6 children would like that.

We will certainly need a big school celebration and to catch up on lots of events when we are all finally back in school!

Thank you so much again.

Keep safe,

Mrs Fletcher
