A Message from the Headteacher…

Good afternoon,

It has been a busy week in school with walk to school week, phonics parents meeting, harvest festival and world mental health day today.

We will share photos of our harvest festival in classes on the website and we are putting together a video to share on ParentHub.  Even though our harvest festival was very different this year, the children really enjoyed performing in their classes.  All children pledged an act of kindness to help someone else too.

Please have a look at our remote learning offer on the website under the teaching and learning drop down on the main page.  Here you will find all the information you need about how we will work with children who need to self isolate and learn from home as well as when a teacher has to self isolate.  We will also share this information with you separately too.  Next Tuesday at 5.30pm we would like to invite you to a zoom meeting to discuss our remote learning offer too.  A link will be sent via ParentHub before then.  We hope you can join us.

It may seem a very long way off but usually children can buy poppies in school for Remembrance Day.  Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are unable to sell poppies this year but we will make poppies in school instead.

We have also been reviewing how we can serve hot dinners again safely in class bubbles and thankfully we have found a solution.  So, after half term we will be offering a hot meal option which will be served in biodegradable covered containers in classrooms.  There will be one choice available and dietary requirements will be catered for.  A menu will be going out next week to be booked by Sunday 18th October for the first week back after half term.

There are only two more weeks before half term and we have lots of exciting learning before then.

Looking forward to seeing you all next week,

Mrs Fletcher
