17 October 2022

Good morning,

We have one more week before half term.  The weeks have flown since we came back from the summer.  I think everyone is ready for a well deserved rest ready for a crazy (as always!) build up to Christmas.

Last week we started the week with Mental Health day and finished the week with our Harvest Festival.  Thank you to everyone who came to our Harvest Festival last Friday.  The children had a great time presenting their class harvest.  Thank you also for your donations to our local foodbank.  With increased bills, unfortunately foodbanks are seeing a massive increase in people asking for extra support so all donations are very well received.  If you would like to send any more donations into school, please do as the foodbank will not be collecting until at least the end of the week.

We are very aware of the pressures on families with increased bills and not as much money to spend.  If you are struggling and your child needs more uniform or you are finding it difficult to pay for school meals, please let me know and we will do our best to support you.  We have spare second hand uniform available, which we will be putting out at events but please let me know if you think it would be good to put it out weekly for people to take and also donate.  We are also now providing every child with toast first thing in the morning (including gluten free).

This week is a quieter week but it will be great to finish our half term with our Year 5 sharing assembly on Friday.  For those who have ordered donuts as our end of half term fundraiser, we will be serving them on the playground after assembly.

Many thanks for all your support.

Mrs Fletcher
