Newsletter 26th April 2024
Friday 26th April 2024
The staff and children in EYFS have been buzzing this week with the birth of ten new baby chicks! Following the delivery of eggs on Monday morning, the children observed closely. Then on Tuesday evening, at about 17:50, the first egg began to crack. Over the next 24 hours all chicks arrived safely and have been moved out of the incubator into their new home in the classroom. It has been lovely to see the children take such a keen interest in their development as part of their Spring learning on life cycles. The children are taking great care of our new arrivals. All the other children in school have also been invited to go and visit the chicks as well. A huge thanks to Miss Gill for organising this wonderful piece of learning for our youngest learners.
Across school, the children have been working hard on their different learning. I have been particularly impressed by the knowledge of children in Team Calder about the Solar System. When I visited their class this week, they were able to share lots of key knowledge about the names of the planets and how our solar system works. Well done!
Please see what’s coming up below for details on upcoming events in our school and in the wider community. There is also a ticket offer from the Rhinos with an invitation for children to take part in the pitch side parade before the match. See the last page for further details.
As always, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with myself or a member of staff. Have a great weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene
