  Super Swimming Sessions!

This week started with a SPLASH for lots of our pupils in KS2 who went to Selby for their first swimming lesson of the term. We were incredibly proud of all of our children, who represented our school with fantastic respect throughout. Learning to swim is a part of the national curriculum and it’s a really important skill to help keep children safe. Thank you to Mr Jeff, Ms Gibb and Mrs Caffrey for all the coordination and preparation that has gone into making these sessions happen.

Year 4 have been learning about Electricity through their current unit in Science. This week they used their knowledge of how to make a complete circuit to design and make their own torches! The children worked collaboratively and made some wonderful designs. Well done Team Foss! Over in Year 1, the children have started a new topic in their Science lessons: Plants! This week they have been learning the names of plants and having a go at using their knowledge to label up the different parts of plants.

As always, there is lots to look at in the newsletter, so take a look below of upcoming dates and events for your diary. There is lots happening in the community that might be of interest and we still have some spaces for our free after-school activities. If you are interested about any of our after-school clubs please enquire at the office or book via Parent Pay.

Have a great weekend and see you next week,  Mr Greene
