Growing Plants and Introducing our new EYFS play library!
This week in Science, the children in Year 3 have been learning about what a plant needs to grow. The class are investigating whether a plant will grow if it is not given either sunlight or water. Everyone has two cress plants, they will provide one with everything the plant requires to grow, and one plant they will either take away the sunlight or the water to compare how it affects the plants growth. The children enjoyed planning and carrying out their ‘fair tests’ using their scientific enquiry skills. Well done Team Derwent!
Meanwhile, over in EYFS, Miss Gill launched our new Play Library from Boromi for children in Team Esk and Team Nidd. Boromi has provided us with a set of ‘play bags’ with different sets of equipment and resources. The children will take it in turns to bring home a play bag and enjoy playing with you at home. We hope you enjoy it and please do share your feedback with the team!
