Newsletter 14th March 2025
Friday 14th March 2025
Another busy week in school!
This week In Early Years we have just started our new topic: ‘Beyond England’ where we are exploring places in the world that are a little bit different to where we live. This week we are learning about Antarctica and over the coming weeks we are going to learn about Africa as well as different places to visit in Europe. We are using maps and books to support our learning.
Meanwhile, Team Ouse explored the Forest Schools area this week as part of their Science topic: ‘Living Things and their Habitats’. The children were looking at the microhabitats within the woodland habitat, trying to spot different animals, insects and plants that live and grow there. They loved exploring the natural world around them in our fantastic Forest School provision!
In other news, I am delighted to share an exciting staffing update! From next week, Mrs Jeff (who currently teaches part-time Monday – Wednesday in Team Ouse) will also be teaching with the Key Stage 2 team on a Friday for the rest of the school year, in addition to her Year 2 role at the beginning of the week. Mrs Jeff will teach in Year 4 (in the morning) and Year 5 (in the afternoon) at the end of the week. Mrs Kellet will continue to work in Key Stage 2 on a Friday and will teach in Year 3 (for part of the morning) as well as across the phase. Congratulations Mrs Jeff!
Finally, don’t forget that our Celebration of Learning Event takes place on Tuesday 18th March 2025 after school. We hope that you, and other family members, will be able to join us!
As with previous celebration events, please collect your children from their classroom as usual and then wait nearby the classroom door for re-entry. Once all children have been collected, you will be let into the classroom to enjoy looking at children’s work and the displays around the room. Furthermore, there will be an opportunity for families to explore the school, including; the library area, the newly painted HUB space and the main hall. In the hall there will be refreshments for sale, a raffle, a tombola and the uniform swap shop. Please come and say hello; thank you for your continued support.
Competition Time! For the chance to win a 1kg John Bull Confectioners Easter Egg, join our Easter Raffle. £1 per square and all proceeds go towards our school fundraising. Please see the office for a number or send a named sealed envelope in with your child. The winner will be randomly chosen on 4th April 2025. Good Luck!
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend! Mr Greene
