Newsletter 7th March 2025
Friday 7th March 2025
Wow! What a fantastic time we had this week in school for ‘World Book Day’ 2025! It was amazing to see all the children dressed up for the day; thank you for your continued support with special events like this. We’re so pleased that the children enjoyed the day and spent lots of time enjoying themselves reading!
During the day, each class enjoyed cooking foods that were inspired by well-known books or a book they are reading in class. Also, many children got to swap one of their books from home for a new book to read from someone else in school. Thank you for your support with this; many of our children now have a new book to enjoy! Finally, congratulations to the winners of the ‘Best Dressed Character’ competition from each phase: Jason, Eleanor and Willow! We hope you all enjoy your new books for your prize!
This week, we were also delighted to welcome Mother Sharon from the local church, St Edward the Confessor, into school. Mother Sharon leads the church in the village and she also sits on our school governing body. On Wednesday she led a whole-school assembly to enrich our RE curriculum by teaching the children about the Christian festival of Lent. There were lots of helpful volunteers and we are grateful to Miss Gill, our RE Lead, for organising the assembly. We are looking forward to sharing some of the children’s RE learning with you in a few weeks time when we enjoy our Easter Celebration together at St Edwards Church on Monday 31st March at 14:00. Parents/carers, you are most welcome to join us and we hope to see you there!
Lastly, please can we remind all road users to park with care around the school site and please do not park in the Children’s Centre car park next door. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Have a great weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene
