Newsletter 2nd October 2026

Friday 2nd October 2026

Following the success of our Languages Day, the children in Year 2 have been learning about the artist Pablo Picasso. Taking inspiration from his work, they then created some abstract art matching his style. I was really impressed with their concentration and focus in making their artwork. The result is absolutely amazing and makes a wonderful art gallery display in the KS1 corridor! Well done Team Ouse!

Meanwhile, over in Forest School, the children in Teams Esk and Nidd have been using a different media for their artwork. Whilst in the woods, they have used crushed up blackberries to paint with blackberry juice. Inspired by the work of the artist, Joan Miro they have painted some wonderful paintings, which are now on display in their unit. Great work team!

I was also really impressed with Team Humber this week and their fantastic Music lesson. Using tuned percussion, they have been working hard on their rhythm and pulse using boom whackers. It sounds great Year 6!

Finally, I wanted to share a reminder to keep Wednesday 14th October at the end of the school day clear in your diary as we would love to see you in school for our next Celebration of Learning event! Please join us with your child as you look at their work, chat to their teacher and take part in various activities in the school hall. Refreshments will be served with any proceedings going directly towards our school fundraising for resources and experiences for our children. We hope to see you there!

Thank you for your continued support, Mr Greene
