Dear Parents/Carers,

Action stations in EYFS this week!

On Wednesday, Team’s Esk and Nidd went on their first school trip of the year to the National Emergency Services Museum in Sheffield. The children really enjoyed their day and we are extremely proud of how well they represented our school throughout the trim. Well done team!

Throughout the day, the children had lots of opportunities to find out more about ‘People Who Help Us’ as part of their topic of the same name. Children could explore and climb inside different vehicles used by the Emergency Services today and during the past. The children loved exploring the different vehicles and dressing up in some of the outfits that different people who help us wear. We had two excellent workshops as well during the day from the team at the museum and from a real life firefighter who came in to meet the children.

A huge thank you to our families and carers for your support to make the trip happen and a big thank you, as well, to all the volunteers who came along with us to make the trip possible. We love to work in partnership with our families to provide these enriching experiences to our children.

Next week we hope you can join us for our Harvest Festival on Friday 20th October at 13:45 in the village church. Each class will share their learning about this topic and will be singing different songs. We look forward to seeing you there. Please let us know on the Google form if you are attending so we know who will be coming.

Safeguarding Thought of the Week

Last week we spoke to our children about bullying. We have been talking about what bullying is and the different types of bullying. As part of this we have been using the word STOP (Several Times On Purpose).

We want to ensure that every child feels safe and happy coming into school. If you have worries that your child is being bullied in school please ensure that you share with their class teacher, Mr Metcalfe or Mr Greene.
