We are proud to be a Music Mark school!

Music makes an important contribution to the life of Brotherton and Byram CP Academy; we believe that it should be celebrated, promoted and encouraged. It helps build pupils’ self-esteem and self-discipline and leads to higher standards across the curriculum. Thanks to the support from the EBOR Academy Trust and the North Yorkshire Music HUB, we are benefitting from the transformational power that music brings to pupils, staff and parents alongside the wider school community.

We were delighted to receive recognition for the value that we place on music by being invited to become a ‘Music Mark School’ by the North Yorkshire Music HUB. This is because of the work we do to ensure that all of our pupils are able to access a high-quality music education, as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our children learn a broad and balanced curriculum.

We believe that music builds skills for life. Through the study of music our children become better team players, develop greater learning skills and become more creative. Music is for everyone and our vision are Brotherton and Byram is that ‘Every Child is a Music-Maker!’. When children learn music from a young age they can go on to develop a deep love of music and a passion for learning music for life!
