 Welcome back!

Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to school for the Summer Term 2024!

We hope you and your family have enjoyed the Spring break.

There is so much to look forward to coming up this year!

We have been blown away this week by the way all of our pupils have returned to school after the Easter Holidays and have thrown themselves into their new learning topics and challenges! Thank you for your continued support as we pick up routines again and ensure that children are in school, every day, on time and ready to learn.  I have been really impressed with the engagement and focus of our pupils around school as I have been in and out of all of the classrooms this week.

In Nursery this week, the children have been focusing on naming and drawing simple, 2D shapes during their Maths lessons. They have also been counting the sides and corners of shapes; great work team! Also, it has been a joy to welcome our newest Nursery cohort pupils who have just joined us – we hope your child loves their time with us! In Team Ouse, the focus in their Maths lessons this week has been on Fractions. There is often more than one way of solving questions so the children have been working in pairs to explore the most efficient method to solve fractions questions. Keep up the good work! Meanwhile, in Year 3, Team Derwent have been practising their debating skills in PSHE. They have been discussing the length of school holidays and we were impressed with the way they listened to each other and got their own points across so clearly.

Please check out the details of our upcoming calendar events in the newsletter below for this half-term. We are also sending out the full calendar dates for the rest of the school year to give you notice of key events that are coming up in Summer. We have a range of new clubs on offer for you to sign your child up for; these remain free at the point of use for all of our pupils. We hope your child enjoys them!

Have a great weekend and see you next week,

 Mr Greene
