Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been so lovely to be back in school this week and seeing some amazing learning going on.

As we go through the term, and in particular the next few weeks, I am expecting we will see more Covid cases.  I am hoping we can continue as normal as possible with remote learning sent home for those children isolating.

The government has pledged to try and keep schools open and we will do everything we can in school to make sure this happens.  There may be challenges to the smooth running of school which may mean some alterations to schedules and activities but I will keep you updated as soon as I can if this is the case.

We are still planning on sharing learning with parents throughout the term but please can I ask that, if you do come in, you take a lateral flow test before if you can just for peace of mind.

Today you should have received information about events during the term and we are very much hoping everyone can take part in these events.  We are being optimistic and I think it is better to plan to enjoy some great events than not plan any at all, so fingers crossed.

We have been working hard on our curriculum offer and making sure it is relevant for our children in our community.  Our theme for this term is ‘Our World’ and you will be able to see what each class is learning on our website under ‘Curriculum’.  We have also been putting together key information and vocabulary organisers for each subject for each term (please see the curriculum section of our website for the ones published so far).  As we go through the term, we will be putting together key information organisers for all subjects so you can see exactly what the children will need to know by the end of each term.  I hope you like the format of them and they are useful for you to look at too.  We have really enjoyed putting them together and they link specifically to our children and what they need.

Once children know all the key information, we will be extending their learning and research skills to challenge them even further and will be bespoke to each child.

This week is very exciting as, on Monday, we have Gail Brown our CEO and Dave Barber our Executive Head visiting with another head from the Trust and Rebecca McGuinn our Trust Lead, to look at the children’s learning.  I am really looking forward to them seeing what the children are achieving and what we have done together to give the children many opportunities and sharing our plans for the future to give the children even more opportunities and see them grow.  If you are dropping off children in the morning you may see them on the playground so please chat to them. We have worked so hard together during the pandemic to keep the children’s learning going and provide them with more opportunities despite the restrictions and it is definitely something to celebrate with them.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and thank you for your continued support during continued challenging times.

Mrs Fletcher
