Dear Parents/Carers,
We start our two week’s transition this week which is so important for all our children to go into the summer holidays, having spent time with their new teacher and not feeling anxious about moving up. It is so important for a smooth transition and I know children are really looking forward to it.
Last week was busy. Thank you for understanding about class closures as a result of teacher strikes. It is never an easy decision to make.
We celebrated lots of success at our Trust Pupil Parliament Celebration on Thursday when two of our representatives from Year 5 met up with other children from all our Trust schools to celebrate what they had all achieved towards achieving the UN Convention Sustainable Goals. It was such a good afternoon and a great way to end their Trust Parliament role this year. Next year, we will have some new Trust Parliament representatives from our new Year 5 and I am sure they too will have loads of ideas to improve our world. The theme this year has been ‘small changes make a big difference’ and from what everyone shared during the celebration afternoon, that has definitely been true!
We have also received an award from HSBC for taking part in sessions across all year groups to ensure we use money wisely. The sessions have been great and we will continue these next year too.
Thank you to everyone who could come to our summer fair and stay for fish and chips. It was a lovely event after school and we all really enjoyed it.
Next week we have lots of celebrations, including our Year 6 Graduation on the Wednesday morning and then disco after school. Year 6 parents are invited and the graduation starts at 9.30am followed by tea, coffee and cake so I hope you can make it.
It will also soon be time for me to say ‘goodbye’ to everyone. Lots to do before then but I do hope you can make my retirement afternoon tea with all the children on the last Thursday afternoon of term.
Thank you so much for all your support.
Mrs Fletcher
