New Class Champions Announced at B&B School!

Many congratulations to our new Class Champions who were announced this week in assembly following a successful election on Monday. Every child in school was invited to put themselves forward to be considered for this important pupil leadership role. Then, everyone had two votes to choose their desired candidates in their team. The results came back on Tuesday and now we can welcome in the two class champions for each team. Well done to you all!

Class Champions play an important role in speaking and listening to their peers in their team on a wide range of issues, including; ideas for trips and events, what is taught in our curriculum, the local environment, staying safe and how we look after each other and our school. Class Champions then meet with myself every fortnight to discuss these important issues and help shape the future development of our wonderful school community. I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who put themselves forward for this and for joining in with the election. I look forward to working with our new champions as our school continues to grow from strength to strength.

Coming up next week, we are learning about Children’s Mental Health Week and Safer Internet Week in school. Mrs Jeff will lead the PSHE activities with the children through an assembly on Monday and then the children will explore important issues with their teams in class. We also have HSBC next week delivering fun and interactive sessions on money management. We also have Team Aire’s sharing assembly next Friday 9th February at 14:45; we hope you can join us to see what the children have been learning.

Have a restful weekend and see you next week, Mr Greene

SAFEGUARDING THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

We are aware that lots of our children have access to internet enabled devices and are aware that many of our children access social media platforms. As part of our Safeguarding Thought of the week, we will be sharing information about the various social media platforms that our children may access. This information is useful for our parents and carers in looking at the risks and exploring the limits and monitoring that can be placed on these apps. This week a separate information sheet will be sent out alongside the newsletter. This week it will be about TikTok. Please also see the image below for guidance on the different age ratings on social media apps.
