I am sure you all agree, it has been a very worrying time with the risk of contracting the Coronavirus becoming more real. The government directive last night showed the seriousness of what we are facing and what all need to do responsibly to ensure we minimise risk.
I would like to thank all those parents I have spoken to about childcare, for understanding and working together to minimise risk to our children and families.
Feedback from parents about home learning has been very positive so far which is great news. Teachers will be checking in with parents via ParentHub regularly and Key Stage 2 teachers are monitoring children’s work on google classroom. Key Stage 1 and Early Years are preparing a google form for parents so they can monitor who is following the planning sent and act on feedback for future planning.
I am very conscious that teachers also have family commitments and need to balance work, family and break times to ensure they have positive wellbeing. Teachers also need time to plan on a daily basis in response to assessment and feedback. So, they will be available on google classroom from 9am until 2pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to answer any children’s queries or answer any emails sent to admin from parents who have questions about their child’s learning. On a Wednesday they will be available 9am to 12pm as during the afternoon they will have planning time and an online staff meeting.
As we all find a new way of working and learning over the next few weeks, please do not hesitate to email or ring school and leave a message if you have any questions or need to update us on anything. If you are finding it difficult at home and we can help in any way, please contact us. Attached is a list of useful contacts, if you need additional support beyond school.
