School Update 18/06/2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Well, it has been quite a week with a bubble closure yesterday.  Thank you for your understanding and collaboration in making sure children who are isolating can stay at home while siblings can still come to school.  It has been a real team effort!

I am sure many of you are aware that Sherburn High School has closed because of a COVID outbreak so we knew there were many cases in the area.

A bubble closure in our school does not mean that our school is not a safe place to be, far from it.  Making sure bubbles do not mix has ensured that only one bubble needs to isolate.  We have continued with lots of handwashing, cleaning down surfaces several times a day and keeping bubbles separate throughout the pandemic and I expect we will continue to do these things even when the pandemic is under control.

Please can I ask though that everyone wears a face mask when on school grounds and keeps socially distanced, to ensure we are all doing everything we can to stop the spread of the virus.

As a result of the bubble closure and increased cases in the local community we are reviewing what we have planned in school to reduce any risk of spreading the virus.  I will be in touch early next week with revised calendar dates.

Many thanks for all your support.

Mrs Fletcher
